Oakura Sunset - SOLD

Energetic and colourful this large work is textured with sand from its subject Oakura beach in Taranaki.

Depicting the incredible colour show that only a West coast sunset can provide I purposely removed as many controls as I could to let the painting develop its own character. Sand is mixed in the paint to create texture, rough brushes used to loosen the form and painted on a hung, raw canvas to remove the constrains of a fixed boundary.

This work is still unframed so can be rolled for overseas postage or will be stretched to a frame for an NZ buyer.
